Is there hope after despair? An analysis of trust among China's Cultural Revolution survivors

We study the long-term effects of Cultural Revolution, characterized by widespread violence, summary executions, and chaos, on a set trust outcomes among people surveyed China Survey in 2008. find that revolution, identified cohort-specific exposure to excess deaths at county level, has significant impact trust. However, differ according relationship considered.
